The first women's footy games of the year were held on Saturday with the inaugural 'Duel in the Desert' tournament hosted by the Arizona Lady Hawks. With temperatures expected to rise into the triple digits it was an early start with games starting not long after 8.00am. At the event were the newly formed Denver Lady Bulldogs and the Atlanta Lady Kookaburras as well as the hosts of course the Lady Hawks, runners-up at last years Nationals in Louisville. read more »

Lady Kookaburras win third National Championship
October 17th, 2007 | posted by Wayne KraskaThe Atlanta Lady Kookaburras won their third successive USAFL National Championship title on Sunday defeating the Arizona Lady Hawks in Louisville Kentucky. The Lady Kookaburras came up against stiff opposition through out the pool games from the Milwaukee Lady Bombers, Arizona Lady Hawks and a combined team from Balt/Washington-Calgary, but were far too good and completed the weekend with their unbeaten run intact. read more »
Two Aussies find a new love for the game of their home country

They like to come to Atlanta to visit the Australian Bakery - they bring a cooler each visit to stock up on supplies from home. On one visit they saw a flyer promoting the Lady Kookaburras and decided to come out for a look and a kick. Now both Betty Pat and Sue Marsh are hooked. Each week they drive from Birmingham early Saturday morning (7am because of the time change!) in order to play in the 11 am game in Atlanta. The 2005 champions from Atlanta came out strong and took home the cup again. They cemented their place in history by becoming the first dynasty in women's Football.

Lady Kookaburras Steamroll
July 1st, 2006 | posted by Wayne KraskaThe Atlanta Lady Kookaburras showed that their win in last year's National Championships was just the start of something big win when they steamrolled the Florida Fusion on Saturday with a record 122 point win. This was the first meeting of the two teams since the Lady Kookas won a close game last October to take the first National Championship title. There was no sign of a close game on Saturday however in the heat of a sunny Sarasota FL afternoon where the Lady Kookas jumped out in blistering form kicking 8 unanswered goals in the first quarter. read more »
