On Oct 13-14 2007, the USAFL National Championships were contested in Louisville, KY.
Lady Kookaburras win third National Championship
October 17th, 2007 | posted by Wayne KraskaThe Atlanta Lady Kookaburras won their third successive USAFL National Championship title on Sunday defeating the Arizona Lady Hawks in Louisville Kentucky. The Lady Kookaburras came up against stiff opposition through out the pool games from the Milwaukee Lady Bombers, Arizona Lady Hawks and a combined team from Balt/Washington-Calgary, but were far too good and completed the weekend with their unbeaten run intact. read more »

In 2003 some women had a dream. Kathryn Hogg from Minnesota and Leigh Swansborough from California met on the USAFL forums and decided to have a women's exhibition game at the USAFL National championships in Kansas City. Leigh started recruiting players for the Orange County Bombshells and Denis Ryan agreed to coach a team of "all comers" for them to play at nationals. read more »

The USAFL National Championships are the highlight of women's footy in North America. We've been playing women's matches since 2003 with an official division starting in 2005.
All women are encouraged to compete even if you don't have a team in your area.
